What file formats are supported in Scaura?

Admins can upload all file formats to Scaura. This means that users will be able to find, download/sync, or share any file from Scaura.

However, we do have limitations in terms of which files can be previewed, and which images can be converted. This article gives an overview of these limitations.

Previewing support

Images

The following images can be previewed in Scaura (all platforms and browsers):

ai, bmp, eps, gif, ico, j2k, jp2, jpeg, jpg, png, ps, psd, svg, tif, tiff

Note: Only JPG and PNGs can be used as backgrounds.

Videos

Support for video previewing varies depending on platforms and browsers.

Note: all the video formats are converted to mp4 automatically in the CMS. Depends on the size of the video, it takes some time to finish conversion.

Note: Only mp4 can be used as backgrounds.

PDFs

PDFs can be previewed in all platforms and browsers.

On iOS, we support further functionality, such as pinch to zoom.

Office files

Office files (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) can be previewed in all platforms and browsers, as long as they do not exceed the following limits:

Word documents: up to 10MB
Excel documents: up to 5MB
Powerpoint documents: up to 10MB

Office files above these limits cannot be previewed inside Scaura, but can be downloaded and opened with external software.

Image conversion support

On Scaura web portal, users can convert images into their desired requirements. Although we offer comprehensive image conversion support, there are certain limitations you should be aware of.

Format conversion

We currently offer support of image conversion into JPG or PNG. The following images can be converted:

ai, bmp, eps, gif, ico, j2k, jp2, jpeg, jpg, png, ps, psd, svg, tif, tiff

Resolution conversion

We currently offer the option to resize images into various resolutions.
